Prepare for the Embassy interview

50 questions across 5 categories, drawn from patterns reported by past Indian applicants.

• Round 1 — record yourself answering ten questions with no preparation and watch it back
• Round 2 — practise with a friend acting as a panel of three, strictly timed
• Round 3 — full video mock with formal dress, camera at eye level and a neutral background
• Score each round against the rubric below and fix only the two weakest areas each time
• Keep every answer between 45 and 90 seconds with one concrete example

The Embassy does not publish its internal scoring sheet. This rubric reflects the evaluation criteria described in the guideline plus reported applicant experience — treat it as preparation guidance, not an official marking scheme.

Q: Why Korea?
Structure: one sentence of concrete trigger → one sentence linking it to your field → one sentence naming a Korean strength (lab, company, policy) → one sentence on what you will do with it in India. Avoid K-drama as your only reason; avoid "Korea is technologically advanced" with no specifics.

• Formal Indian or Western business attire; muted colours, minimal accessories
• Greet the panel, wait to be seated, keep both feet flat and hands visible
• Steady eye contact with the person asking; include the whole panel when answering
• Pause for one beat before answering rather than filling with 'basically' or 'actually'
• For online interviews: test audio, sit against a plain wall, keep a printed copy of your study plan out of frame
