Are you eligible for GKS?

• The applicant and both parents must hold Indian nationality and must not hold Korean nationality
• Applicants must be in good health, physically and mentally, to study abroad for the full period
• Applicants must not have previously received a Korean government scholarship for the same degree level
• Applicants must not be graduates of a Korean university (with limited exceptions stated in the guideline)
• Applicants must be able to enter and stay in Korea legally on a D-4 or D-2 visa

• Undergraduate: generally under 25 years of age as of the entry date stated in the guideline
• Graduate (master's, doctoral, research): generally under 40 years of age as of the entry date
• Applicants with a disability registered under the guideline's provisions may have an extended limit

Age is calculated against a fixed cut-off date printed in each year's guideline, not your application date. Confirm the exact cut-off for your cycle.

• Undergraduate: completion (or expected completion) of the full 12 years of elementary, middle and high school education outside Korea — an Indian Class XII pass qualifies
• Graduate: a bachelor's degree for master's applicants; a master's degree for doctoral applicants
• GPA condition: an overall grade of at least 80/100, or the top 20% of your class, converted using the official conversion standard
• Applicants must submit official transcripts including a grading-scale legend

Indian CGPA on a 10-point scale is not automatically 80/100. Use your university's official conversion certificate — do not multiply by 9.5 unless your university states that formula in writing.

TOPIK is generally not mandatory to apply, but a valid TOPIK or English proficiency score adds points in evaluation and can exempt you from the one-year language training. Certain universities and departments — especially Korean-taught programmes — set their own minimums in the University Information file.

• Anyone who has previously completed the same-level degree in Korea under a Korean government scholarship
• Applicants with dual Indian–Korean nationality
• Applicants who apply to both the Embassy Track and the University Track in the same cycle
• Applicants whose documents contain falsified or inconsistent information
• Applicants who cannot arrive in Korea by the date specified in the guideline
