   Guideline release (Graduate)

   NIIED publishes the graduate guideline and University Information files, usually in February.

   Embassy notice for India

   The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in India publishes the India-specific deadline, submission address and number of document sets.

   Embassy Track submission

   Complete document sets are submitted to the Embassy / Korean Education Centre in India, typically in March for graduate and October for undergraduate.

   First round (Embassy)

   Document screening and interview at the Embassy. Shortlisted candidates are recommended to NIIED.

5. 5

   Second round (NIIED)

   NIIED panel review of all Embassy-recommended candidates from every country.

   Third round (Universities)

   Your three chosen universities review your application and confirm admission.

   Final announcement & visa

   Successful candidates receive the Certificate of Admission, apply for the D-2 visa and depart for Korea, usually in August (graduate) or February (undergraduate).

• Indian nationality; you and both parents must not hold Korean citizenship.
• Under 25 years of age for undergraduate and under 40 for graduate applications, as of the entry date stated in the guideline.
• Completed (or completing before entry) Class 12 for undergraduate, a bachelor's degree for master's, or a master's degree for doctoral study.
• CGPA equivalent to 80% or above — 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.5 or 3.23/5.0 — using the guideline's conversion table.
• Good physical and mental health, confirmed by the official Personal Medical Assessment form.
• No prior GKS award for the same degree level, and no previous withdrawal from the programme.

• Round-trip economy airfare between India and Korea.
• One-time settlement allowance on arrival and a resettlement allowance on completion.
• Monthly living stipend for the full duration of the programme.
• Full tuition, including admission fees, covered jointly by NIIED and the host university.
• One year of Korean language training at a designated institution before the degree begins.
• Medical insurance, thesis printing support and an additional allowance for TOPIK Level 5 or 6.

• Transcripts and degree certificates, notarised and apostilled through MEA — allow four to eight weeks.
• Birth certificate and parents' nationality proof (passports or Aadhaar-linked documents as accepted).
• Statement of purpose and study plan drafted early and revised across several rounds.
• Two recommendation letters in sealed, signed envelopes.
• Personal Medical Assessment on the official form, plus a full medical examination if shortlisted.
• TOPIK certificate if available, and any language or award certificates for extra points.
